چکیده

ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate the effect of 0.2% chlorhexidine digluconate (CHX) as a pretreatment two types adhesive systems on color stability composite resin restorations. Methods Forty bovine teeth were prepared (6x6x2mm) and randomly divided into 4 groups (n=10): SB - total etch (Single Bond 2, 3M ESPE); + CHX dentin with (30 seconds) followed by application; Adh self-etch (AdheSE, Ivoclar Vivadent); application. The restored Filtek Z350XT (3M ESPE) photoactivated for 40 seconds. Color measurements (EasyShade, VITA) performed following CIE Lab scale at baseline, 1 3 months (distilled water/37°C). mean change values (?E) coordinates (L*, a* b*) statistically analyzed (2-way ANOVA, repeated measures, Bonferroni, p <.05). Results showed that there was reddening yellowing restorative material after months, differing (p <.05) from month. There no difference >.05) regarding treatment CHX. Conclusions did not produce greater changes in restorations irrespective type system used. However, time had significant change, regardless substrate treatment.

Effects of 0.2% Chlorhexidine and Re-polishing on the Color Stability of Nanofilled Composite Resins

Introduction: The growing demand for esthetic dental procedures has resulted in the increased development of new restorative composite resins. The success of composite resin restorations depends on their color stability over time. The present study aimed to evaluate the effects of 0.2% chlorhexidine (CHX) and re-polishing on the color stability of nanofilled composite re...

Color Stability of Polished and Glazed Dental Porcelain in Chlorhexidine

Background and Aim: Discoloration is a major concern with regard to the use of tooth-colored restorations. Type of restorative material and surface treatment are believed to play a role in this regard. This study sought to compare the color change of glazed and polished dental porcelain after 30 days of immersion in chlorhexidine (CHX). Materials and Methods: In this in vitro, experimental s...

Effects of fibers on the color change and stability of resin composites after accelerated aging.

Composite resins were reinforced with glass and polyethylene fibers in this study, and the effect of fiber reinforcement on the color change of composite resins was investigated. After accelerated aging, the effect of fiber reinforcement on the color stability of composite resins was also examined. There were three experimental groups (n=12 disks per group): non-fiber-reinforced composite (non-...
